Sexual Harassment: Definition & Scope

Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates the fundamental right to equality and dignity. It creates a hostile environment that affects an individual's work or academic performance.

Sexual harassment includes:

  • Unwelcome sexually determined behavior (whether directly or by implication)
  • Physical contact and advances
  • Demand or request for sexual favors
